Rest days for a domestic helper
A rest day is part of employing a helper, not an optional extra you settle after the work permit is approved. Vibrant Employment's hiring FAQ states the rule the agency expects employers to follow.
The rule the agency publishes
At least one rest day per month is mandatory. If you and your helper mutually agree that she works on her rest day, you must compensate her. MOM encourages weekly rest days. In the agency's experience, helpers who are well rested stay longer and work more steadily, which is easier for the household as well.
That is the whole published rule. This page does not add a dollar figure for compensation, because the site does not publish one. Agree the amount with your helper and keep a record of it.
Decide the pattern before the first week
Weekly is the pattern MOM encourages. Monthly is the minimum the FAQ describes. Households that need help on a Sunday still have to give the mandatory day, or compensate a day that is mutually worked. Say which day is usual when you are matching a helper, so the arrangement is not a surprise after she moves in.
Rest-day plans sit next to the other employer duties on the work permit page: salary, levy, insurance, and the permit itself. Vibrant Employment handles application, renewal, and cancellation of FDW work permits from the Tampines office at 123 Tampines Street 45.

Read the duties beside the rest-day rule
The FAQ covers hiring costs and employer duties. The work permit page explains eligibility, levies, and the application. The listings page is where you look at helper profiles.
